Comparison of outcome between suture and suture-less surgery following pterygium excision and conjunctival autograft

Background: A pterygium, known as surfer's eye, is a raised, wedge-shaped growth of the conjunctiva that extends onto cornea, outer layer eye. Aim was to compare safety, efficacy and outcome suture less technique with conjunctival autograft in management pterygium. Methods: This study carried out department ophthalmology, Sir Salimullah medical college Mitford hospital, Dhaka. Study period July 2019 June 2020. Subjects for this were divided into two groups, forty patients enrolled each group population. Group I (control) comprised subjects whom used following pterygium excision II (experimental) no autograft. Results: In I, 20% 20-29 years old, 30% 30-39, 27.5% 40-49, 22.5% over 50, 77.5% being male female. II, 72.5% The most common symptom "foreign body sensation" both groups. 5% experienced partial graft dehiscence, 2.5% cyst, 10% hyperemia, 17.5% visual improvement. had Neither retraction or recurrence. Conclusions: Postoperative presentation like hyperemia significantly experimental group. Incidence post-operative complications dehiscence cyst comparatively frequent technique. Thus, safer complicated than sutured
